"Special Works edition of the TRX250R basket with 12 fingers instead of 10 spreading out the wear friction to two extra fingers resulting in even longer basket life. Requires CR125 clutch fibers (use current stock plates). $149 + $5 ship - an incredible deal for a billet Hinson basket."

I was pretty excited when I found these baskets directly from Hinson sales reps clearing out inventory and got a pretty good deal on them. I can pass that savings on to you guys for these special made billet baskets. If you have any questions, as usual just ask.

Hinson told me any year... I peeked at the fiche and any later model should be safe. The guy also told me CRF250 plates work. My own web searches lead me to think later model CR250 fibers work as well because the pics I saw have 12 tab baskets too.

I shipped another one this morning. I've only got 2 left.

I've run out, and can't get the exact deal I had. The new deal if you're interested in this basket is $175, AND comes with the needed Honda OEM clutch fibers, so that's still a very good deal for a Hinson basket that comes with clutch fibers to boot!

I apologize for not having a store. At some point I'll put up a formal store and update the pages around here to something more corporate looking. lol.

The biggest update to this thread is that I need to update the price. I misunderstood Hinson when they pitched me the deal. The $175 prices is for if I became a dealer, not what I would be charged as a regular customer. Regular customers are charged $310 for the basket alone - it's more expensive than the regular basket apparently.

See, originally when I found these baskets, the rep told me they were closing out inventory and weren't really marketing the basket. I don't know if it's because I've been calling and bugging them about getting more, that they're suddenly wanting me to sell them as a dealer, or what, but either way:

I have to come up with a price over $175 to include shipping and something for my time. I'll put it back to the R community. What do you guys want to pay for the Works basket with Honda fibers included? Let me know and I'll work the deal that way. I'll need a zip code to find out what the exact shipping will be for a total checkout amount. If the economy picks up and people are ordering more I can physically pick up batches to have in stock and that will bring the shipping down.

The best way since I fired paypal (ha) is to call and process the order. The money goes straight to my bank this way and it just is a more secure transaction for everyone in my opinion. From there I place the order with Hinson.

I hope that's not too much trouble and information, but if you need a basket at what is probably the best deal out there, I can probably provide it. Let me know what you guys want to pay.

Thanks for the info.
I want one. But don't need it right now.
Just looks like something that needs to go in my bike.
Depending on the price, I may end up getting two.

Go ahead and offer up a price when you're ready.

I had a customer for a set for $175, but he hasn't responded to placing the order. I can do $175 plus shipping for the first basket/fiber set for whoever is interested.

thats a deal. considering i bought just the basket alone for $155 shipped. at $175 for the basket and the fibers that means your getting honda fibers for only $25! i'm surprised no one else is jumping on this.

i went to the Hinson web site and they list the "works" fiber kit for $89.99 shoot the works basket is listed at $310.

on another note do i need any special tools to remove/install the new basket?

Yea it really is a good deal. I have to reiterate though that 175 is my cost for the package, so I have to charge something over that. I'm willing to hear what you guys want to pay though if you're in the market. You're right though retail is a lot higher. The market is slow though for one thing...

To replace the basket you need a tool to hold the transmission shaft still while you back the pretty tight center nut off. There's a tool on ebay you can search for called a "clutch holding" tool, or something like that. Here's one clutch tool

As far as putting the gear on the new basket, I believe all you need is a drill to remove the original rivets. Don't drill too wide. The gear has to center correctly on the new basket. The new basket comes with bolts to mount the gear to the new basket. One tip I got from Hinson was not only use the red loctite on the threads like the sticker says, but to also punch a detent in the center of the bolt after torqued. I'd be careful not to damage the basket when hitting downward with a hammer... This will spread the end of the bolt a little giving some extra insurance the bolt won't back out.
